Diagnosis of diabetic peripheral neuropathy: comprehensive evaluation of five examinations: touch, temperature, pain, vibration and ankle reflex.
Clinical diagnosis of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DSPN) is based on:
Neuropathy symptoms (distal, symmetrical symptoms, excluding other medical history that warrants differential diagnosis).
Signs (ankle reflexes, pressure, vibration, tingling, temperature).
The toolkit contains 5 tests, 2 of which are abnormal to clinically diagnose diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
1、10g nylon wire – pressure sensoryration
2、Cool temperature checker – temperature sense check
3、40g pins – pain test
4、128Hz vibrating tuning fork – vibration perception check
5、Percussion hammer-ankle reflex examination
It is used for the examination of touch pressure of diabetic foot, and the regular examination can avoid the patients from developing foot ulcer and amputation in the future.
The product uses a micro vibration stimulation probe to measure the sensitive degree of the sensory nerves in penis and glans by measuring the biological vibration threshold.
The cold and warm sensation Checker (Tip-Therm) test was used to assess the temperature disturbance of diabetic foot.
